IITM Notification 2024 Apply Online Date

The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) is an autonomous research organization fully funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi. It is a premier institute of national and international repute, dedicated to research in various aspects of atmospheric sciences with particular emphasis on tropical meteorology, climate change and the Indian monsoon.

If the number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large, it will not be convenient or possible for the Selection Board to conduct interview or written examination for all those candidates. The Institute may shortlist the candidates to the extent appropriate on the basis of essential and desirable qualifications/record of academic performance/experience relevant to the post or any other benchmark decided by the committee constituted to scrutinize the applications.

• Master’s Degree in Meteorology/Oceanography/Atmospheric Science/Earth Science/Climate Science/Physics/Geophysics (Meteorology)/Electronics/Mathematics with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university or equivalent.
• OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with minimum qualification 60% marks from recognized university or equivalent.
• 7 years of proven research experience in Global Data Assimilation/Decadal Prediction/Decadal Predictability/Decadal Variability/Climate Variability/Climate Extremes/Climate Prediction/Earth System Modeling/Climate Modeling/Coupled (Marine Environment) Modeling/Sea Ice Modeling/Land Surface Modeling
