HPCL has its own R&D Centre named ‘HP Green R&D Centre’ in Bengaluru. The centre provides advanced technical support to refineries and marketing SBUs for operational improvements, adoption of new technologies, development of innovative and path-breaking technologies, licensing of technologies and becomes a knowledge hub. HPCL is aware of the importance of environmental sustainability for the health of our planet, well-being of present and future generations and preservation of ecosystems and biodiversity. Towards this objective, various initiatives were undertaken by HPCL in the areas of carbon footprint reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, renewable energy etc. HPCL has also announced its plan to reach Net Zero in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2040.
